Softball Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. Gateway Panthers

The Freedom Patriots will head out to square off against the Gateway Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Freedom lost 17-3 to Innovation on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Bulls: they've now lost three in a row.

Freedom saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evanna Hance, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Poinciana hit Gateway with a five-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 26 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gateway has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Freedom, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.

Freedom might still be hurting after the 19-9 defeat they got from Gateway in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
