Basketball Recap: Mount Judea Eagles vs. Deer Antlers
Mount Judea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 57-39 bruising from the Deer Antlers. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Antlers from their previous meeting back in February.
Deer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Guinnip, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Guinnip is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Canyon Lasater, who posted 13 points.
Mount Judea's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Deer, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Mount Judea will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Kingston at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Kingston's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
