Baseball Game Preview: Goldthwaite Eagles vs. Center Point Pirates

For the second straight game, Goldthwaite will face off against Center Point. Goldthwaite will head out on the road to take on Center Point at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Goldthwaite is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Center Point 15-5 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

For Center Point's part, Chase Foley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most hits Foley has posted since back in April of 2024. Diego Ibarra was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Center Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.

Goldthwaite's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Center Point, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
