Soccer Recap: Douglas County Comes Up Short

Douglas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 5-0 to the Chaparral Wolverines. While losing is never fun, Douglas County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Chaparral are ranked 25th).

Douglas County was without their leading scorer, Peyton Michael, in Tuesday's game. With Michael sitting this one out, Alexandria Smith got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 60).

Douglas County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Chaparral, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Douglas County is set to square off against their familiar foe Castle View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Chaparral will face off against rival Mountain Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
