Volleyball Recap: Eastlake Comes Up Short

After flying high against Del Norte two weeks ago, Eastlake came back down to earth. Eastlake fell 3-1 to the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens on Tuesday. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Ravens recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

While Eastlake ultimately came up short, they really made Canyon Crest Academy work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-22, 26-24, 21-25, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Eastlake still got an impressive performance from Robert Almendarez, who had 26 assists. Those 26 assists gave Almendarez a new career-high.

Eastlake's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they pushed their record up to 28-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastlake will host Torrey Pines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Torrey Pines will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Eastlake surely won't give up without a fight. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Costa Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
