Baseball Game Preview: Hilltop Lancers vs. Sweetwater Red Devils

The Hilltop Lancers will head out to challenge the Sweetwater Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Sweetwater took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hilltop, who comes in off a win.

Hilltop can't be too worried about heading out to take on Sweetwater: they just beat Otay Ranch at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Lancers walked away with a 6-1 win over the Mustangs on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Meanwhile, Sweetwater didn't have quite enough to beat Otay Ranch on Monday and fell 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Sweetwater's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Hilltop, their victory bumped their record up to 10-16.

Hilltop was able to grind out a solid win over Sweetwater when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
