Softball Recap: Bethlehem Catholic Takes a Loss

Bethlehem Catholic and Easton Area pushed the score to 15-5 the last time they played Easton Area, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Hawks took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rovers. The Hawks' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Madison Bixler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

Bethlehem Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Easton Area, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethlehem Catholic will face off against Emmaus at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Easton Area, they will challenge Parkland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rovers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
