Basketball Recap: Daphne Now 13-3 over Last 16 Games

Daphne had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Foley Lions on Wednesday, sneaking past 34-31. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Lions two weeks ago, they had to take a 43-39 defeat.

Daphne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Fredayshia Goodwin led the charge by putting up nine points and seven boards. Those seven rebounds gave Goodwin a new career-high. Abagail Johnson was another key player, earning 12 points and five steals.

Daphne is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. The loss snapped Foley's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 25-4 record.

Daphne's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hillcrest at 9:00 a.m. on February 27th. Hillcrest has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 222 points over their last three games. Foley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
