Softball Recap: Capital Comes Up Short

Capital came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the La Cueva Bears, falling 29-12. The Jaguars have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Kahlila Chesney and Harmony Roybal stepped up to the plate in a big way. Chesney went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Roybal went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Isabella Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Capital's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for La Cueva, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

While Capital had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
