Baseball Recap: Parkland Comes Up Short

Parkland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Calvary Day School Cougars, falling 21-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 19-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2016.

Dustin Long made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Orion Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Parkland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Calvary Day School, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkland will square off against Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Calvary Day School, they will challenge Westchester Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.17 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
