Recap: La Villa Cardinals vs. Freer Buckaroos
This season hasn't been kind to the La Villa Cardinals, who are still winless after their 14th match. They were outmatched by Freer at home and fell 72-26. La Villa was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Freer apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Freer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden Ramirez , who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Ramirez has scored at least 25% of Freer's points. Peyton Borden was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
La Villa's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Freer, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.
La Villa will head out on the road to face off against Agua Dulce at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Agua Dulce will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Freer, they will be playing at home against Kaufer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kaufer is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
