Soccer Game Preview: Anson vs. West Stanly

Anson is 0-10 against West Stanly since October of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Bearcats will welcome the Colts at 6:00 p.m. Anson has given up an average of 7.4 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Anson's offense. They lost 10-0 to Monroe on Monday. While losing is never fun, Anson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 596th, while Monroe are ranked 228th).

Meanwhile, West Stanly kept a clean sheet against Forest Hills on Monday. They blew past the Yellow Jackets 3-0.

West Stanly is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six contests. As for Anson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
