Baseball Recap: Apollo's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Apollo and Tolleson squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Apollo had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Hawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Apollo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesus Beltran, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The loss snapped Apollo's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 21-8 record. As for Tolleson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9-1 record this season.

Apollo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tolleson, they have already played their next matchup, an 8-3 defeat against Red Mountain on the 3rd.
