Valley is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will host the Resurrection Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Resurrection Christian better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Valley's game last Friday is any indication, that's when Valley really gets things going. The Vikings put the hurt on Manitou Springs with a sharp 43-22 win. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Caden Surber was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 96 receiving yards and one score. Those 96 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.
Valley didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Manitou Springs to a completion percentage of just 40%. The team can thank Giovannie Hernandez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Valley hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.38 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Resurrection Christian got themselves on the board against Grand Valley on Friday, but Grand Valley never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 51-0 victory over the Cardinals.
Resurrection Christian's win came from a few key players Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Britton Walston, who rushed for 44 yards and three TDs. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Pszanka, who picked up 76 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
One reason for the win was Resurrection Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Kyle Deakins was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Resurrection Christian, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Mwanje (Mj) Peterson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
The win got Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Resurrection Christian, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.
Valley was dealt a bruising 41-7 loss at the hands of Resurrection Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pszanka, who rushed for 152 yards and four scores on only ten carries, and also threw for 77 yards and a pair of TDs on only six passes.
