The Providence Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Austin Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Providence and North Harrison had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 72-48 margin over the Cougars on Thursday. The Pioneers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Providence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayda Kempf led the charge by putting up 26 points. Hayden Doogarsingh was another key player, scoring 13 points.

Meanwhile, Austin was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 42-41 to Brownstown Central. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Braves are ranked 28th).

Providence will have to contain Brynn Owens as she made an impact in Austin's last game. She posted 16 points. The game was Owens' eighth in a row with at least 15 points.

Austin suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-3. As for Providence, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Things could have been worse for Providence, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-44 loss to Austin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Owens, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds. Now that the Pioneers know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
