Basketball Recap: Ottawa Hills Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Ottawa Hills was riding high fresh off their 65-29 takedown of Cardinal Stritch last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ottawa Hills Green Bears fell 52-42 to the Rossford Bulldogs on Saturday. The Green Bears' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Green Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendell Skiver, who posted 28 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The contest was Skiver's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Lily Berenzweig was another key player, putting up five points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Ottawa Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Scarlett Williams was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards for Rossford. That makes it five consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Rossford's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Kutscher, who put up six points and five rebounds.

Ottawa Hills' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for Rossford, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Ottawa Hills will venture away from home to face off against Norwalk at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ottawa Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. As for Rossford, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-37 loss against Fostoria on the 13th.
