Volleyball Recap: Monte Vista Victorious + How To Watch

Monte Vista extended their postseason success on Saturday against Castro Valley. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trojans, sneaking past 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Monte Vista who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-11.

Loss or not, Castro Valley got some senior leadership from Courtney Seiji and Tessa Smith #16. Seiji had 12 digs and four assists, while Smith #16 hit 54.2% for 39 kills and ten digs and one block. Smith #16 is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 40 games she's played dating back to last season.

Monte Vista's win bumped their record up to 26-9. As for Castro Valley, with the defeat, they broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 20-10.

Monte Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Windsor on the 5th. Castro Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
