Baseball Recap: Wade Hampton Takes a Loss

Wade Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 10-7 to the Dorman Cavaliers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-0 loss last Wednesday.

Jonas Moore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Parker McCrory also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Wade Hampton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Wade Hampton now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Dorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wade Hampton will challenge Travelers Rest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dorman, they will take on James F. Byrnes at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
