Basketball Recap: Pataula Charter Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Nick Price and Kylen Rainey

Pataula Charter Academy lost against Abbeville Christian Academy back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pataula Charter Academy Panthers received a blow as they fell 59-40 to the Abbeville Christian Academy Generals. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 500th in Georgia, while the Generals are ranked 148th in Alabama).

Kylen Rainey and Nick Price certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Rainey posted 16 points, while Price had 11 points. Rainey continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

Jayden Buckhannon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Abbeville Christian Academy, going 8 of 14 on his way to 30 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Buckhannon's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarcus George, who put up four points and ten rebounds.

Pataula Charter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Pataula Charter Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-10 loss against Early County on the 7th. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-32 win against Terrell Academy on the 28th.
