Centennial had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Jensen Beach Falcons 15-5 on Thursday. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.
Rayne Cohen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Cohen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Centennial got a massive performance out of Jaelyn Cooke, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lauralei Wetherall, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one run.
Coming up, Centennial will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Okeechobee at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jensen Beach, they will take on Treasure Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
