Recap: Overton Eagles vs. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs
The Overton Eagles waltzed into their matchup on Friday with 17 straight wins but they left with 18. They escaped with a win against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Overton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jolee Ryan led the charge by scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds. Natalie Wood was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller still got an impressive performance from Mikah O'Neill, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. O'Neill is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taryn Arbuthnot, who scored 13 points.
