Basketball Game Preview: The Webb School Feet vs. Clarksville Academy Cougars

The Webb School Feet will challenge the Clarksville Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in The Webb School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.

Last Saturday, The Webb School beat Columbia Academy 80-70. Given the Feet's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The Webb School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jax Howard out in front who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and six assists. Howard has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Brown, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 20 points.

Howard wasn't the only one working in the assist department: The Webb School was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Cougars on Saturday. Clarksville Academy took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goodpasture Christian. Clarksville Academy hasn't had much luck with Goodpasture Christian recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The Webb School has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Clarksville Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.

The Webb School came up short against Clarksville Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 73-62. Can The Webb School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
