            Baseball Recap: Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman Buffaloes vs. Rantoul Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman had lost four straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-21 to make it five. They lost  12-2 to the Rantoul Eagles. The Buffaloes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in May of 2024.
As for Rantoul, they now  have a winning record of 13-12. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous   contest.
For Rantoul's part,  Eli Reichenbach spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Reichenbach is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when he allows at  most three  earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 10-11 when he doesn't).
 At the plate, Rantoul got a  massive  performance out of  Levi Duitsman, who  went 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases, four  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  four  runs gave  Duitsman a new career-high.  Owen Johnson was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman has already played their next match,  an  8-1  loss against Oakwood on the 19th. As for Rantoul, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  13-3  victory against MacArthur on the 17th.
