Baseball Game Preview: Rudder Rangers vs. Huntsville Hornets

The Rudder Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Huntsville Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rudder is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Rudder came up short against A&M Consolidated on Thursday, falling 10-4. The Rangers haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Jose Ponce was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Gray, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Huntsville suffered their closest loss since February 21st on Thursday. They fell just short of Lake Creek by a score of 6-4. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rudder's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4-2. As for Huntsville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10-1.

Rudder skirted past Huntsville 2-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Does Rudder have another victory up their sleeve, or will Huntsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
