Port St. Joe had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 9-8 win over the Holmes County Blue Devils. For the Tiger Sharks, this counts as revenge for the 44-36 victory the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Eli Harris was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.

Harris was just one part of a punishing run game: Port St. Joe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holmes County only rushed for 21 rushing yards.

Holmes County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Port St. Joe will be playing at home against Liberty County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holmes County, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
