Baseball Game Preview: Grace Christian Warriors vs. Faith Christian Academy

Grace Christian is a perfect 4-0 against Faith Christian Academy since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing at home against Faith Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Grace Christian's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Faith Christian Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Tuesday, Grace Christian got the win against Roanoke Valley Christian by a conclusive 7-1. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the EAGLES recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Ethan Wright and Davis Reid were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Wright pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Reid kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wright went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Reid went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Reid's first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zeke Cozzolino, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah McCaskill, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian Academy lost 15-1 to Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy on Thursday.

Faith Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Grace Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Everything went Grace Christian's way against Faith Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Grace Christian made off with a 17-0 victory.
