After only 13 points in their last matchup, Denver West made sure to put some points up on the board against Alameda on Friday. The Cowboys took their contest with ease, bagging a 59-6 win over the Pirates. That looming 59-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cowboys yet this season.

Leading Denver West to victory were Marcelo Ortiz and King Stancil. Ortiz rushed for 75 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while Stancil gained 83 total yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Ortiz a new career-high.

Denver West's run defense was locked in: Alameda could only muster -0.3 yards per carry. While five picked up at least six total tackles, Jorge Chavez stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (3.5 for loss). Denver West didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.4.

Despite the loss, Alameda still got an impressive performance from Christopher Garcia, who picked up 150 receiving yards and one TD.

The victory made it two in a row for Denver West and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Alameda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Denver West has already played their next game, a 35-23 victory against D'Evelyn on the 31st. As for Alameda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 win against Lincoln on the 30th.
