After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Raymondville, Rio Hondo was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Progreso Red Ants as they made off with a 19-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 12 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Rodrigo Saucedo looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit.

At the plate, Juan Padilla was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Rio Hondo: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-8 otherwise. Caleb Sandoval was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Rio Hondo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Progreso only managed three hits.

Rio Hondo's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Progreso, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Rio Hondo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-3 defeat against Lyford on the 8th. As for Progreso, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Raymondville on the 11th.
