Baseball Recap: Randolph Southern Victorious

While Randolph Southern's victory against Tri wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Titans 6-5.

Noah Allen made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Randolph Southern is undefeated when Allen posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-9 otherwise.

In other batting news, Bryson Grimes and Braden Austin did most of the damage at the plate: Grimes went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Austin went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Austin has posted over his last 11 games.

Randolph Southern's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Tri, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Looking ahead, Randolph Southern will face off against Daleville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tri, they are taking a road trip to face off against Union County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
