League recap: Reseda win leads to rise in state rank

Reseda moved up to 645 from 742 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Valley Mission. The Regents climbed the ranks as a result of besting Panorama 47-6.

Reseda took down the Pythons 47-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.

San Fernando's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cris Solano threw for 212 and two touchdowns and JOSE CAMARGO had 162 yards receiving. On the ground DAEMON THOMPSON chipped in 91 yards. THOMPSON helped San Fernando's passing attack out by catching three balls for 48 yards.

The Tigers' Solano and CAMARGO have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Solano has thrown for 1716 yards this season, while CAMARGO, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 33 catches for 608 yards. Van Nuys's Kyle Jean leads the league in rushing yards with 1612.

THOMPSON of the San Fernando is only 55 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 91 carries THOMPSON has accumulated 945 yard this year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Robert Garcia's team takes on the Spartans. The Tigers are in second place, while Sylmar is in third place.

Alonso Arreola's team led Valley Mission in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on Panorama.
