Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanford West). They put the hurt on the Orosi Cardinals with a sharp 7-0 win on Saturday. The Huskies not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 8, 2024.

Ben Ritchie and Sam Sandoval made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Ritchie pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Sandoval kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. At bat, Ritchie scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Sandoval scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Drake Tafolla, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of King Mitre, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Hanford West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Hanford West's record now sits at 6-4. As for Orosi, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-1 record this season.

Hanford West will face off against Dos Palos at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Dos Palos will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Orosi, they are taking a road trip to challenge Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orosi will need to watch out since Granite Hills has now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
