The Cholla Chargers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Tanque Verde Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Cholla is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Pueblo. Cholla blew past Pueblo 12-1 on Wednesday. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Hector Silvain was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Silvain was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Brandon Armenta was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amare Martinez, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Tanque Verde duked it out with Desert Christian on Saturday. Tanque Verde was the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Desert Christian. The game marked the Hawks' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Like Cholla, Tanque Verde also got a great game from a two-way player: Rocco Haggard. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Haggard was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Liam Brunell and Dylan Lewis did most of the damage at the plate: Brunell scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Lewis scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Landon Walker was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Tanque Verde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .758. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Christian only posted an OBP of .450.
Cholla came out on top in a nail-biter against Tanque Verde in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. Does Cholla have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tanque Verde turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
