Basketball Recap: Kenmare/Bowbells Takes a Loss

Kenmare/Bowbells played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Westhope/Newburg Sioux, falling 89-48. Kenmare/Bowbells hasn't had much luck with Westhope/Newburg recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Westhope/Newburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braden Bailey, who went 12 for 16 on his way to 31 points and three steals. The game was Bailey's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Walker Braaten was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Kenmare/Bowbells now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Westhope/Newburg, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Kenmare/Bowbells won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bottineau at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Westhope/Newburg, they will head out to challenge Powers Lake/Burke Central at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
