Softball Recap: Milan Extends Winning Streak to Five

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Milan had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They skirted past the Rising Sun Shiners 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won five contests in a row.

Kynadee Bode made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Bode wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caroline McMillan, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Milan's victory bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Rising Sun, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-6 record this season.

Milan will challenge Hauser at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jets have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. Rising Sun does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
