Baseball Recap: Northeastern Has No Trouble Against Centerville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Knightstown, Northeastern was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Centerville Bulldogs 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Logan White and Logan Seal did most of the damage at the plate: White went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Seal went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Seal has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Kress, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Northeastern has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Centerville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6-2.

Looking ahead, Northeastern has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Cowan at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Centerville, they will challenge New Castle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
