On Friday Alexis Garcia pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The effort marked the fewest earned runs Garcia has had since back in February. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his sixth in a row with less than two walks. This year, he has an ERA of 4.77 over 14.7 innings pitched.

Coming up, Garcia and Manvel will square off against Fort Bend Kempner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mavericks are a perfect 4-0 against the Cougars going back to February of 2023, a lead they'll look to extend.
