After flying high against Thornridge last Friday, Geneseo came back down to earth. The Geneseo Maple Leafs were outmatched by the Quincy Blue Devils at home and fell 55-18. The Maple Leafs haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Quincy's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeraius Rice JR., who rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Rice JR. a new career-high in rushing yards. Another passer making a difference was Bradyn Little, who threw for 424 yards and five touchdowns while completing 91.3% of his passes.

Geneseo's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Quincy, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneseo will square off against Rock Island at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Quincy, they will challenge Capital City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Quincy is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
