Basketball Recap: Concord Academy Eagles vs. Westminster Catawba Christian Indians

The Concord Academy Eagles waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 53-44 victory over Westminster Catawba Christian. This was payback for Concord Academy, who suffered a 63-62 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Concord Academy to victory were Sean Birmingham and Ian Howard. Birmingham scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Howard scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sherod McCormick, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.

Concord Academy's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-14. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.
