Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Troy Mangum and Omar Duarte Lead Las Vegas to Victory

Las Vegas's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Clark Chargers. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 23-25, 25-18.

Las Vegas was led to victory by Omar Duarte and Troy Mangum. Duarte had 22 digs and one assist, while Mangum had 12 digs and eight kills. That's the most digs Mangum has posted since back in March.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jermaine Simmons, who had ten kills and two aces. With that strong performance, Simmons is now averaging an impressive 5.2 kills per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Theodore Birdsong, who had seven kills, three aces, and one block.

Las Vegas' victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Clark, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Las Vegas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Liberty on the 22nd. As for Clark, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Amplus Academy on the 22nd.
