Basketball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sotomayor WILDCATS. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 753rd, while the WILDCATS are ranked 214th).

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Sotomayor, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season.

When Taft and Sotomayor next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Taft will try to stop Harlan's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sotomayor will challenge Warren and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
