Softball Recap: Three Rivers Wins Going Away Against D'hanis

Three Rivers barely beat D'Hanis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went the Three Rivers Bulldogs' way against the D'Hanis Cowboys on Friday as the Three Rivers Bulldogs made off with a 13-3 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Alyson Gomez and Kylee Garcia were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Gomez tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Garcia pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had over her last four games. At the plate, Gomez went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Garcia scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Gomez has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Nayelli Longinos was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Amyah Ortiz was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Three Rivers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as D'Hanis only posted an OBP of .211.

The win made it two in a row for Three Rivers and bumps their season record up to 13-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for D'Hanis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Three Rivers has already played their next match, a 5-4 defeat against Charlotte on the 10th. As for D'Hanis, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-16 loss against Falls City on the 10th.
