Softball Recap: North Vermillion Comes Up Short

North Vermillion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-7 to the Covington Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-8 on Monday.

Addie Burns and Olivia Baker stepped up to the plate in a big way. Burns got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Baker went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

North Vermillion's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Covington, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14.

Looking ahead, Covington will venture away from home to square off against South Vermillion at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Vermillion will be paying especially close attention to the Trojans' match: after the Trojans face off against the Wildcats, they'll take on North Vermillion again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
