Softball Recap: Trenton Comes Up Short

Trenton lost against Branford last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Trenton fell just short of Branford by a score of 6-5.

Emaleigh Philmon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Akins, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Trenton's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. As for Branford, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

Trenton and Branford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Trenton will square off against Taylor County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 327 places (68 vs. 395). Meanwhile, Branford (ranked 43rd) will meet Dixie County (ranked 393rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
