Basketball Preview: Stephenville FAITH Knights vs. Texas Wind
The Stephenville FAITH Knights are on the road again on Tuesday and plays Texas Wind at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Stephenville FAITH focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Even though Stephenville FAITH has not done well against the Warriors recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Stephenville FAITH secured a 44-38 W over the Warriors. Given Stephenville FAITH's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Warriors are ranked 1274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stephenville FAITH can attribute much of their success to Bailey Necessary, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Texas Wind had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came out on top against Heritage Christian Athletics by a score of 41-34.
Stephenville FAITH pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Texas Wind, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.
Stephenville FAITH beat the 50-40 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stephenville FAITH since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
