Football Recap: Hilton Head Island Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Hilton Head Island waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 38-28 victory over the Bluffton Bobcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Seahawks also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Derrick Raniszewski looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 217 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes, while also punching in a pair of TDs on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). A healthy portion of Raniszewski's aerial production (106 yards to be exact) went to Jeremiah Walters, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Despite the loss, Bluffton still got an impressive performance from Aedan McCarthy, who rushed for 135 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 123 yards and a pair of TDs. McCarthy really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.

Hilton Head Island's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bluffton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilton Head Island will square off against Bishop England at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Seahawks will need to watch out since the Battling Bishops have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Bluffton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beaufort at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
