Basketball Recap: Academy of Science and Innovation Skates Past University with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Academy of Science and Innovation's strategy against University on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens blew the University Hawks out of the water with a 60-24 final score. The Ravens pushed the score to 46-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks had little chance of recovering from.

Academy of Science and Innovation had a senior duo take command as Mohammad Kulaib went 7 of 12 en route to 20 points and three steals and Ibrahim Sidik went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points. Kulaib has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Boakye, who posted four points and five rebounds.

The win (which was Academy of Science and Innovation's sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for University, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy of Science and Innovation will take on Weaver at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for University, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Classical Magnet at 7:15 p.m. on January 22nd.
