Softball Recap: Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua Has No Trouble Against Sidney

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua). They put the hurt on the Sidney Eagles with a sharp 9-3 win on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Scotties have won by exactly six runs.

Brynn Donaldson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Tessa Miller and Halle Hunter did most of the damage at the plate: Miller went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Hunter went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Hunter has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. CharLee McColly was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Sidney, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sidney, they will head out on the road to take on Dawson County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
