After a string of four wins, Capital's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mountain View Mavericks by a score of 3-2. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Capital started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-12.

Carrie Cutler paced Capital's offense, picking up 13 kills. Cutler got some help from Elayna Jolly and her 47 assists. Jolly was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Capital's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5-2 record this season.

Capital didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Kuna on the 25th. As for Mountain View, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Timberline on the 25th.
