Basketball Recap: Evangelical Christian Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against St. George's last Monday, Evangelical Christian came back down to earth. The Evangelical Christian Eagles took a hard 46-28 fall against the Harding Academy Lions on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 28-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Harding Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Erica McGary, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. That's the most points McGary has posted since back in January of 2024. Bella Rose Austin was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Evangelical Christian's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-3. As for Harding Academy, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Evangelical Christian has already played their next contest (against Northpoint Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Harding Academy has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Memphis Home Education Association.
