Basketball Recap: Moss Point Takes a Loss

Moss Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-17 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ocean Springs Greyhounds. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Moss Point had strong showings from Zaria Nettles, who posted eight points and five rebounds, and Landyn Miller, who had four points and five boards. Miller is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Moss Point's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Ocean Springs, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moss Point will challenge Presbyterian Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ocean Springs, they will square off against St. Patrick at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Starr Jackson and Alexandrea Patino.
